She laced her perfume up with death
Feel it in my lungs
So ill pull in the deepest breath
And drop my head
-From Autumn to Ashes "Chloroform Perfume"
First, the title gets nods for being distinctive. Now for the lines, while they first appear to me as poesy poetry, further thought appreciates the fresh take on worn-out words. Lacing perfume with death? Nice. Dropping my head after pulling in this (final) deepest breath of knowledge that this breath is laced with death? Beautiful. Even stones have beauty. Obvious, but makes you think.
